Second verse, same as the first!

The second beta release of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS is now a week away, and son the archive is in hard freeze in preparation of that Beta.

During the freeze, all uploads to main must be approved by a member of the
release team, so if you have fixes which are important to get in, please get in touch as soon as possible (and preferably, get your packages uploaded in parallel!). Uploads to universe require a manual push through the queue, but are not subject to release management approval.

The third alpha for lucid is released. Download from the mirrors to enjoy the developer-y goodness and help in preparation for the lucid release.

Moving right along with the Lucid release, Lucid Alpha 3 is due this Thursday, which means the soft freeze is now in effect for main. Please be considerate with your uploads, and help us fix the release blocker bugs.

We’ve come to the end of another exciting release cycle, friends – and we have a great release to show for it. Ubuntu 9.10 “Karmic Koala” is released! Read more about its great new features in the press releases for the Desktop edition and Server edition, and browse the technical overview.

At the same time, the 9.10 versions of Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Edubuntu, Mythbuntu, and Ubuntu Studio were released.
