Ubuntu 12.04 Beta 2 release is now a week away and the archive is now in hard freeze to prepare for it.

During the freeze, all uploads to main must be approved by a member of the release team, so if you have fixes which are important to get in, please get in touch as soon as possible (and preferably, get your packages uploaded in parallel!).

Uploads to unseeded universe require a manual push through the queue, but are not subject to release management approval.

Precise daily image issue: nvidia hardware owners please hold off on upgrades

An issue has been noticed due to interaction between a recent libc upgrade and the nvidia graphics driver. If you have nvidia hardware, please avoid upgrading until this has been resolved. Investigation is
ongoing.

Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) Released!

The dreams that inspired this release are now in running code, and available for your download.

We would like to acknowledge the debt of gratitude owed by everyone in the Unix community to Dennis Ritchie, who passed away this weekend.
None of this code could have happened without building on the dreams and excellent work of such giants.
